Hossein Tavazoni-Zadeh is a performance maker, researcher, and educator based in Groningen, whose work remains in dialogue with Tehran. Often bringing together academic research and artistic practice, he explores how people remember the past, how memories become connected to places, and how these memories continue to shape contemporary life. Drawing on archives, heritage, and everyday experiences, he combines research, performance, and community engagement.
Hossein has lectured and led workshops internationally and has collaborated on a range of productions as a writer, dramaturge, stage designer, and performer. He completed his PhD at the University of Groningen, where his research in Cultural Memory Studies examined how film, media, and fiction shape images and memories of home and the built environment.
