Hossein Tavazoni-Zadeh is a performance maker, educator, and researcher. His work often combines Cultural Memory Studies and performance to explore today’s social issues and how they connect to our images of the past, looking at archives, heritage, and what people choose to remember or forget. Hossein has lectured and led workshops in both academic and artistic contexts in France, the Netherlands, and Iran, and has collaborated on a variety of productions as a writer, dramaturge, and stage designer. Hossein is in the final phase of his PhD at the University of Groningen, where his research examines how media and fiction shape the memory of built environments and invest them with emotional resonance.
